We have a living God, a speaking God! One who loves us, His children, and He particularly loves to speak to us! He can speak to any one of us who love Him.

“In the Last Days I will pour out of My Spirit upon all flesh: your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, and your young men shall see visions, and your old men shall dream dreams” (Acts 2:17).

You might be thinking, “I read the Bible every day, so I’m hearing from the Lord every day.” While it’s good to read the Bible, the recorded Word of the Lord, which is the foundation of our Christian faith, it’s wonderful to also hear straight from the Lord and “take heed to His sure word of prophecy, as to a light that shines in a dark place, until the day dawn, and the day star arise in our hearts” (2 Peter 1:19).

His Word says to “Stir up the gift of God which is in you” (2 Timothy 1:6). So, every day should be a new experience for us, a new listening to the Voice of the Lord. Why live only on yesterday�s spiritual food, when we can have fresh “manna from Heaven” (John 6:58) every day? Jesus still speaks today! Listen to what He told me on June 15, 2008:

I have the KEYS – simple keys to BREAKTHROUGH. It’s not complicated. You have to trust me on this. Just keep writing down what You hear me saying. I know what works and what doesn’t. I am the Alpha and Omega, so I see the end from the beginning. I have to show You before you can show others. What you shared at Soul Purpose Church today was good. Even though it seems that most people didn’t get it, seeds were planted. You have a generous heart. What you’re doing in secret, I will reward openly. That’s My word – that’s My promise.

“For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.” (John 3:16)

Today was another historical day of taking a stand for the WFJ GLOBAL MOVEMENT. Team destiny hosted their final of three WFJ (Words From Jesus) webinars in December 2009 called “The Miracle of Christmas.”

Dr. Joseph Peck served as the global connector and host of this webinar. The guest panelists were: Deb Smith, Richard Mayhan, Bertha Hinson, and me, Abigail Slocum. Clearly the Holy Spirit took control of the webinar before it ever started and never let go!

He began by waking me up at 3:22 AM to give me this prophetic word – WFJ: THE MIRACLE OF CHRISTMAS IS CHRIST! It was His way of orchestrating the whole focus for the discussion. These are the questions we covered:

WFJ: THE MIRACLE OF CHRISTMAS IS CHRIST!

Take the tour of the Word and be free in Christ. CHRISTMAS IS A SEASON FOR MIRACLES BUT EVERY DAY IS A MIRACLE IN CHRIST! TO BE IN CHRIST IS THE GREATEST MIRACLE OF ALL.

SALVATION IS THE GREATEST MIRACLE OF ALL. It is God�s free gift to all mankind. For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son that whosoever believes in Him shall be saved (have eternal life).(John 3:16).

What is so miraculous is that SALVATION IS THE “GREAT EXCHANGE!” MAN GIVES GOD HIS IMPERFECT, BROKEN, SINFUL LIFE IN EXCHANGE FOR A PERFECT (COMPLETE) LIFE IN CHRIST. JESUS GIVES HIS ALL FOR OUR ALL!

When you receive Christ as your personal Lord and Savior, the LIGHT OF THE WORLD – THE CANDLE OF MAN, comes into your heart to show you the most excellent way of all to live. IT IS THE WAY OF LOVE BECAUSE GOD IS LOVE.

In this “GREAT EXCHANGE,” your old sinful man dies and the new man comes alive in Christ. CHRIST LIVES THROUGH YOU to live the perfect will of God which is righteousness, peace and joy in the Holy Spirit. (Romans 14:17).

Unity of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit is your inheritance as a born again child of God. IT IS A LIFE OF VICTORY AND TOTAL PROVISION. To be one with the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit is to be free from every bondage of sin and to be free to experience the fullness and abundance of life in Christ Jesus. JESUS IS THE DOOR TO FREEDOM AND TOTAL FULFILLMENT.

Jesus� arms are open wide and ALL THAT BELONGS TO THE FATHER OF LIGHTS IS YOURS WHEN YOU SAY “YES” TO JESUS who is the express image and likeness of God, and His Kingdom of Love becomes yours!

IT IS A SUPERNATURAL GIFT OF DIVINE INFUSION AND PROPORTION AND IS THE GREATEST MIRACLE OF ALL! Become one with the King of Kings and the Lord of Lords. ALLOW THE PRINCE OF PEACE TO RULE IN YOUR HEART FOREVERMORE, for God set eternity in the heart of man. He loves YOU so much and nothing will ever separate YOU from His love.

It is greater than anything you ever wanted for Christmas for it is the desire of your heart. RECEIVE GOD�S GIFT AND SPEND THE REST OF YOUR NATURAL LIFE AND ETERNITY UNWRAPPING JESUS, GOD�S GIFT OF HIMSELF WHO IS PERFECT LOVE. THERE IS NO END TO LOVE. REJOICE AND BE AT PEACE. IMMANUEL HAS COME!

RECEIVE ALL OF THE GREATEST MIRACLE WHO EVER WAS OR IS TO COME! Let Christ have free reign in your heart and become His walking talking miracle and witness to all mankind. Your light has come. BE GLORIFIED IN HIS ETERNAL PRESENCE.

I LOVE YOU, MY CHILD. BE MADE WHOLE. ENTER THE JOY OF THE LORD. MERRY CHRISTMAS FROM THE PERFECT LOVER OF YOUR SOUL! BE SATISFIED IN ME. I AM YOUR FULFILLMENT AND HEART�S DESIRE. SHALOM.

Prayer Power

If you don�t know Jesus as your personal Lord and Savior, please say this prayer out loud from your heart and you shall be saved and come into God’s Kingdom of Love.

Father God, I believe in my heart that you sent your Son Jesus to die on the cross for me. I believe Jesus paid my sin debt in full. It was a debt I could not repay and it was a debt Jesus did not owe. Thank You, Jesus. I accept your perfect gift and sacrifice. Come into my heart and be my Lord and Savior. Baptize me in the power of your Holy Spirit and I will serve you all the days of my life! I am saved! I am free! Thank you, in Jesus name. Amen.

May you allow the God of all hope and the Prince of Peace to rule in your heart this day and forevermore. May this truly be your most significant Christmas ever as the FULLNESS of the gift of God’s LOVE FOR YOU, becomes an everyday reality in your life!

God Knows

“God knows your faults and failures, but he still loves you unconditionally.” – Beth Spangler

For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the LORD, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope. (Jeremiah 29:11)

How does knowing that God knows everything motivate you to live a godly life?

I’m passionate about helping people, including you, share their God stories, products, and services with the world. That’s what JIREH Marketing is all about – combining 1) Journaling (to hear God’s voice), 2) Coaching (for support, encouragement, and accountability), and 3) Web 2.0 (relationship marketing) for EXPLOSIVE KINGDOM IMPACT.

In mid December, I asked my intercessory prayer team to pray that God would send me 3 JIREH Marketing interns to work for me for free for 3 months so I could train them to train others – that’s discipleship. On Saturday January 10, exactly 3 people showed up for the very first JIREH training session and made the 3 month commitment. Now all three of those people, including my pastor, Matt Gregory, have their own blogs and have begun blogging.

One of those 3 interns is Beth Spangler, who has an absolutely amazing God story of deliverance and restoration. Beth has already written 5 wonderful blog posts since we created her blog on Jan 9. Her latest blog is titled “God Knows” and discusses God’s unconditional love. It’s interesting that this past Sunday (Feb 1), Matt happened to begin his February sermon series titled “Unconditional.”

God’s vision: Because of the help of my interns, our team was able to help start more than 10 new blogs for various people and organizations during January alone. “When individuals recognize their God-given uniquenesses and live accordingly, life takes on new purpose and meaning.” – Cheryl Smith

And some of them were persuaded; and a great multitude of the devout Greeks, and not a few of the leading women. (Acts 17:4)

How are you shaping culture in your sphere of influence?

About two weeks ago I listened to a BlogTalkRadio show hosted by Erik Olson. During that Erik talked about the huge transfer in power and wealth that is taking place from the corporate world to entrepreneurs. When I shared that with Jerry Graham, he told me there is a simultaneous transfer of power and wealth to God’s Kingdom builders, fervent disciples of Jesus who are advancing the Kingdom of God on this earth. I agree.

But there is another major trend taking place – the transfer of power and wealth from men to women. That’s apparent in many arenas of the marketplace, including the political one. During recent correspondence with Jack Serra, he told me that 80% of the people who buy and read his book “Marketplace, Marriage, and Revival” are women. I see something similar in Relationship Marketing (Web 2.0).

It’s no wonder that many women are thriving with Relationship Marketing. In general, they tend to be much more relational than men. The mantra for Relationship Marketing is “Relationships first. Business second.” For women this is usually natural. While many men are clinging to the “security” (and power) of the corporate world, women are getting a jump start establishing their own businesses on the web. It’s neat to watch.

Recently I got connected with Cheryl Smith, founder of CultureSmith Consulting, through Twitter (there’s that word again). I plan to interview Cheryl on BlogTalkRadio in the next few weeks. Here is what Cheryl says in her online bio:

“As a young girl, I often sat on my back porch steps waiting on the garbage truck to come so I would have someone to talk to. I’m pretty sure it’s because I’ve always loved meeting new people. “Never met a stranger,” some say. I have this uncanny ability to get to know others quickly and easily.

I grew up in Georgia in the late ’60’s and early ’70’s. My parents taught us (I’m the youngest of five) to treat others with respect. I spent a lot of time with the Etheridges, an African American family who lived across the street. Jeanine Etheridge was my best friend and her family’s influence helped shape me into the woman I am today. Before I ever heard the term “core value”, respect was already one of mine.

My faith is also very important to me. I find it both challenging and rewarding to consistently follow Christ in all aspects of life. I’m forever on this journey and am thankful for an intimate relationship with a loving God.

I wrote my first diary entry on January 1, 1976 as an 11 year-old girl. During those days and since, I’ve written about the things that are important to me – faith, family and relationships.

Today I’m living my dream and I want the same for others! That’s the message I convey to corporate and non-profit audiences alike. When individuals recognize their God-given uniquenesses and live accordingly, life takes on new purpose and meaning. Personal satisfaction abounds. Teams function more effectively. Customers are more engaged. Organizations grow and prosper.”

I’m impressed with how transparent Cheryl is, how she is living her life on purpose with passion, and how she openly shares her faith. On the home page of her business blog, Cheryl says,

My Life Story Empowered

Your word is a lamp to my feet And a light to my path. (Psalm 119:105)

I’ve had a Wow! morning. God is so good! I’ll share part of the story this morning and more tomorrow. If you need encouragement today, read on.

Yesterday at Soul Purpose Church, Pastor Matt preached a message titled “My Life Story Empowered.” He shared that you’ll never know you’re soul purpose until you meet Jesus and then meet with Jesus daily. Key scriptures were Psalm 119:105 and Exodus 33:7-17.

Matt first addressed the question “How do I meet with God?” and then laid out these 4 simple steps

1) Opening prayer – preparation (confess sin) and permission (“Whatever You tell me to do, I’ll do.”)

2) Read (or listen to) Bible. According to Hebrews 4:12, the Word of God is living and active (if you let it be). According to Henry Blackaby, “The Bible is not something that leads to a connection with God; It is the connection with God.” Matt pointed out that while the U.S. Constitution is often referred to a living, breathing document, it’s not really. But contrast this with the Bible.

Matt answered the question “Where do I start in reading through the Bible?” by recommending John, 1 John, Luke, Acts, Romans, then Genesis in that order. What a great suggestion.

Matt’s answer to the question “What am I looking for as I read?” was SPACE PETS = Sin to confess, Promise to claim, Attitude to change, Command to obey, Example to follow, Prayer to pray, Error to avoid, Truth to be believed, Something to thank God for.

3) Journal – meditate and record answers to these questions:
a) What did God say to me? (Which of the SPACE PETS really got my attention today)
b) Why did God say that to me today?
c) What am I going to do today because of what God said to me? (What needs to change?)
d) With whom can I share what God said to me today?

4) Record your response prayer. Commit to follow what He has shown you today. Praise Him for who He is. Thank him for what He has done.

Then Matt did something that every preacher would benefit from. He gave each person 10 minutes to actually practice what he taught using Psalm 1. As I read that Psalm, I underlined “meditates on it (the Word of God) day and night” as my one Command to obey. I made the commitment to spend an hour each morning and night in My Secret Place reading the Bible and praying for specific people on a written list starting that evening.

So yesterday evening before I went to bed, I read all of 1 John out loud in our home. That resulted in a rocket launch this morning. Be sure to catch tomorrow’s message and opportunity.

Peace in the Financial Storm

One thing I have desired of the LORD, That will I seek: That I may dwell in the house of the LORD all the days of my life, To behold the beauty of the LORD, And to inquire in His temple. (Psalm 27:4)

Where do you find peace in the midst of the financial storm?

Our nation in under the judgment of God. We are seeing the consequences of years of greed, selfishness, immorality, etc. The potential ramifications of the current financial storm are much worse than the terrorist attacks of 9-11 or Hurricane Katrina.

Two weeks ago, we witnessed our federal government scramble to come up with a $700 billion bailout plan for some of our major banks despite three fourths of Americans being opposed to that.

According to an article at Forbes.com yesterday evening, “The stock market finished mixed on Friday (Oct 10), capping off a gruesome week that wiped out $2.4 trillion from the stock market as investors grew fearful about stubbornly tight credit and the prospect of a severe recession. The Dow Jones industrial average, after eight consecutive daily losses, finished at its lowest level since April 2003, and suffered its worst weekly percentage loss ever.”

For the week, the Dow, S&P, and Nasdaq are down 18%, 15%, and 15% respectively. For the year, the Dow, S&P, and Nasdaq are down 36%, 39%, and 39% respectively.

If we add this up, that’s a loss of more than $3 trillion for Americans in two weeks. If we divide this large amount by 100+ million households in America, that’s $30,000 per household. But the loss around the world is much greater than that because the U.S. crisis has shaken the stock markets in Europe and Asia as well. The Forex (Foreign Exchange) is the largest market in the world and trades daily about five times what the U.S. stock and bond markets do combined.

If you research the underlying factors in the current U.S. financial crisis, you will discover that our foundations are much worse than they were before the Great Depression in 1929. Now superimpose all the greed, selfishness, immorality, etc so prevalent in our nation and we have a recipe for disaster. In just one day, each of us can lose everything financially that we have saved for so long.

Our government doesn’t have a clue to what it’s purpose is anymore. It’s grown to the point where it’s trying to be all things to all people. We have hundreds of thousands of laws that erode away at personal freedoms instead of building our foundation on the Ten Commandments which God gave us. One of those Commandments is “Thou shalt not covet!” Covetousness is a big reason why we are experience such a financial crisis.

OK, so where do you find PEACE in the midst of this financial storm? It’s in the house of the LORD as Psalm 27:4 describes above. It’s in prayer – communion with God. And praise is the prayer that changes everything. God inhabits His praises.

Yesterday evening after riding my bicycle 18 miles, I spent about 2 hours watching various “Jesus” and “praise” videos on GodTube first and then YouTube. Finally, I found one that I knew was the right one for this message. Watch it at today’s Link of the Day.

LORD Jesus, we praise You as the God who offers peace in the midst of any storm. Barack Obama doesn’t have the answers. John McCain doesn’t have the answers. Our government doesn’t have the answers. Only You do. May each of us keep our eyes focused on You, Jesus. May we be bold and step out of the boat to walk on water and do what You have called us to do. May we live our lives on purpose – for You and not ourselves. May we prepare the way for Your soon coming. Thank You Jesus. Amen.

Why Coaching?

It’s Transformational … examine your life from a different perspective
It’s a Transparent Relationship … creating an authentic, encouraging relationship that fosters trust and safety
It’s a Supportive System of Change … providing structure and accountability that results in maximum progress
It’s Continuous Personal Development … strategizing, setting challenging goals, and truning those goals into action

We all need relationship, perspective, encouragement, and accountability to reach our maximum potential. A coach can help you sort out what are the most important issues in your life, help you get “unstuck,” and provide a sounding board when you need an outside perspective.

Life is intended to be a “team sport,” and coaching is built on the power of relationship. Coaching is a partnership between two equals, one of whom has some specialized training and life experiences that can challenge the other to move toward their destiny.

ASSEMBLING THE WHOLE STORY

THE GREAT OMISSION

Matthew 28: 18-20

The following thoughts would better be served in a blog because they require the need for a “paradigm funeral” of old school thinking and a renewed mind of defining success the Jesus way. Here is a list of those thoughts to get some conversations going in your part of the world:

1. Jesus defines “success” as the bottom line of whether or not we are making disciples.

2. Discipleship is almost entirely relational in a combination of small group and one on one culture, outside of church meetings, and especially through the influence of healthy conversations from healthy families around the table.

3. Discipleship assumes we are “going into all of our world” (most of what we do outside of church meetings) to make #1 and #2 above happen. That makes “sending capacity” a better benchmark of success than “seating capacity”.

4. The end game of discipleship is for nations to be discipled (Rev. 21:24-27) so the “burning bush vision” for the church is to equip members to make disciples in the places that shape a nations; at work in the major spheres of vocations that shape the culture.

5. We have made discipleship more of a “teaching commission” at the expense of a “training omission” (v.20). Action steps that integrate and align our daily behaviors with kingdom values and Jesus commands is more hitting the mark than “fill-in-the-blank” lectures or sermon series. (Note: It only takes 45 minutes to read the teaching content of Jesus words given us in scripture.)

Recently Bill Hybels of Willow Creek authentically announced that his “seeker-friendly”congregation did not produce transformational change in the lives of its members; meaning they were not discipled. George Barna’s extensive research in the discipleship deficit in the American church brought him to the unfortunate position of an anti “organized church” position. I believe that Lifeforming can offer a way forward in this debate.

I am giving my life to the core value that Transformational Coaching is a key to making more and better disciples in our nations. Here is why:

1. It consistently targets the core factor of making a disciple; hearing God’s voice. Every religion makes disciples but a disciple of Jesus is led by Him personally (not just His principles) and has the “unfair advantage” of knowing that voice (John 10:3) in the unique design that we are created to respond to that voice (Psalm 139: 13-16).

2. It consistently maximizes the core delivery to make a disciple; a non-judgmental relationship with someone who seeks to 100% believe in you as the Father does, 100% work with you in what the Spirit is prioritizing, and 100% enable you to take ownership for your own development and progress.

3. It consistently models the authentic spiritual authority of stewarding transformation to another by first having been transformed ourselves in the same manner (2 Timothy 2:2). UNTIL SPIRITUAL FATHERS AND MOTHERS ARE DISCIPLED THEMSELVES TRANSFORMATIONALY THEY ARE DEPENDENT ON PROGRAMS AND METHODS THAT ARE INFORMATION TRANSACTIONS MORE THAN LIFE TRANSFER.

4. It consistently produces the kind of community that is compelling and engaging of the spiritual hunger in our cultures that are seeking life-giving spiritual relationships when they turn to Christ. Lifeforming’s Transformational coaches know how to catalyze authentic relationships in organizations that shift those cultures to environments that accelerate personal development in the context of the organization’s mission.

Who are YOU?
What do you do?
Who did God create you to be?

For some reason, I was prompted to give a lot of thought to the first two questions last week. “I am a child of God, an ambassador for Jesus, the Messiah!” That would be my answer to the first question. That’s where I get my identity.

Regarding the second question, “DESTINY Coach!” That’s what I do and that’s what created me to be – a coach to guide people into their destiny. When talking to others one-on-one, some people see visions (visual images), but I see people’s destinies.

The Holy Spirit has guided my steps to bring me to this point where He is using me as a catalyst to assemble Team Destiny, a fast growing team of DESTINY Coaches to guide people into their destinies and to live abundantly.

For me, living life on purpose is the only way to live. It’s a life of passion, of commitment, of abundance. It’s living life smarter (not harder) – living life for LORD God Almighty, not myself. It’s living in Christ, with Christ, through Christ -that’s where the real POWER comes from. Like John the Baptist said, “He must increase, but I must decrease.” (John 3:30)

According to Pastor Rick Warren in Chapter 1 of his book “The Purpose Driven Life:”

“Self-help books, even Christian ones, usually offer the same predictable steps to finding your life’s purpose. Consider your dreams. Clarify your values. Set some goals. Figure out what you are good at. Aim high. Go for it! Be disciplined. Believe you can achieve your goals. Involve others. Never give up.”

“Of course these recommendations often lead to great success. You can usually succeed in reaching a goal if you put your mind to it. But being successful and fulfilling your life’s purpose are not at all the same issue! You could reach all your personal goals, becoming a raving success by the world’s standard, and still miss the purposes for which God created you.”

In 2006, the Holy Spirit instructed me to step away from my highest paying, easiest, most enjoyable anesthesia job to make 2007 a year of Sabbath rest. My key verse for 2007 was “Be still” from Psalm 46:10. On a scale of 1-10 with 10 being the best, I would give myself a “4″ for how I complied with that key verse.

I started 2007 with a 21 day fast. My goal for the first few months of 2007 was to review my journals (highlights, low points, etc) for the previous five years to see where God had led me so I would better know where He was leading me. Because I succumbed to lots of distractions and failed to “be still” long enough, I reviewed less that 20% of my journal summaries.

Despite my failure, God’s purposes prevailed. The top best things that happened to me in my 2007 sabbatical year were meeting Dr. Jerry Graham and beginning my coach training by Lifeforming Leadership Coaching. Both happened on June 1, 2007. Now that’s super-convergence.

Jerry and Sharon Graham officially became web clients of mine when I received their signed written agreement and deposited their down-payment check on 07-07-07. It’s interesting that Rick and Rachel Heeren also officially became web clients of mine on that same day (777). More about this and CLARITY tomorrow.

Heavenly Father, thank You for Your promise to make Your Word (the Bible) be a light unto my path as I meditate on that. Yesterday I shared that the topic for this week is “Working Smarter, Not Harder” and that the web is the greatest business invention of the 20th century.

While preparing the PowerPoint presentation for today’s webinar, I was prompted to write down some of the new fruit I personally experienced from the Journal 201 course. Here is a partial list:
1) Began using The Journal myself
2) Got connected to Debra Thompson Roedl and the Wealth Alliance Group
3) Transformation Virginia was officially launched
4) Launched my own web store with products, courses, and memberships
5) Soul Purpose Church (my church) formally adopted “Coaching you to discover and fulfill your soul purpose” as its mission
6) Door opened for an alliance between Team Destiny and Lifeforming Leadership Coaching
7) I bought a brand new bicycle. My old one was more than 25 years old (literally an antique).

In my August 22 devotional, I mentioned that Joseph Umidi was my top new contact in 2006 and Debra Thompson Roedl has been my top new contact in 2008.

On August 19, Joseph sent the monthly Lifeforming Leadership Coaching e-newsletter promoting our webinar to his 1,500 or so contacts. In his message titled “Coaching with an ‘Ear To Hear’,” Joseph wrote:
