Today was another historical day of taking a stand for the WFJ GLOBAL MOVEMENT. Team destiny hosted their final of three WFJ (Words From Jesus) webinars in December 2009 called “The Miracle of Christmas.”

Dr. Joseph Peck served as the global connector and host of this webinar. The guest panelists were: Deb Smith, Richard Mayhan, Bertha Hinson, and me, Abigail Slocum. Clearly the Holy Spirit took control of the webinar before it ever started and never let go!

He began by waking me up at 3:22 AM to give me this prophetic word – WFJ: THE MIRACLE OF CHRISTMAS IS CHRIST! It was His way of orchestrating the whole focus for the discussion. These are the questions we covered:

WFJ: THE MIRACLE OF CHRISTMAS IS CHRIST!

Take the tour of the Word and be free in Christ. CHRISTMAS IS A SEASON FOR MIRACLES BUT EVERY DAY IS A MIRACLE IN CHRIST! TO BE IN CHRIST IS THE GREATEST MIRACLE OF ALL.

SALVATION IS THE GREATEST MIRACLE OF ALL. It is God’s free gift to all mankind. For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son that whosoever believes in Him shall be saved (have eternal life).(John 3:16).

What is so miraculous is that SALVATION IS THE “GREAT EXCHANGE!” MAN GIVES GOD HIS IMPERFECT, BROKEN, SINFUL LIFE IN EXCHANGE FOR A PERFECT (COMPLETE) LIFE IN CHRIST. JESUS GIVES HIS ALL FOR OUR ALL!

When you receive Christ as your personal Lord and Savior, the LIGHT OF THE WORLD – THE CANDLE OF MAN, comes into your heart to show you the most excellent way of all to live. IT IS THE WAY OF LOVE BECAUSE GOD IS LOVE.

In this “GREAT EXCHANGE,” your old sinful man dies and the new man comes alive in Christ. CHRIST LIVES THROUGH YOU to live the perfect will of God which is righteousness, peace and joy in the Holy Spirit. (Romans 14:17).

Unity of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit is your inheritance as a born again child of God. IT IS A LIFE OF VICTORY AND TOTAL PROVISION. To be one with the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit is to be free from every bondage of sin and to be free to experience the fullness and abundance of life in Christ Jesus. JESUS IS THE DOOR TO FREEDOM AND TOTAL FULFILLMENT.

Jesus’ arms are open wide and ALL THAT BELONGS TO THE FATHER OF LIGHTS IS YOURS WHEN YOU SAY “YES” TO JESUS who is the express image and likeness of God, and His Kingdom of Love becomes yours!

IT IS A SUPERNATURAL GIFT OF DIVINE INFUSION AND PROPORTION AND IS THE GREATEST MIRACLE OF ALL! Become one with the King of Kings and the Lord of Lords. ALLOW THE PRINCE OF PEACE TO RULE IN YOUR HEART FOREVERMORE, for God set eternity in the heart of man. He loves YOU so much and nothing will ever separate YOU from His love.

RECEIVE GOD’S GIFT AND SPEND THE REST OF YOUR NATURAL LIFE AND ETERNITY UNWRAPPING JESUS, GOD’S GIFT OF HIMSELF WHO IS PERFECT LOVE. THERE IS NO END TO LOVE. REJOICE AND BE AT PEACE. IMMANUEL HAS COME!

RECEIVE ALL OF THE GREATEST MIRACLE WHO EVER WAS OR IS TO COME! Let Christ have free reign in your heart and become His walking talking miracle and witness to all mankind. Your light has come. BE GLORIFIED IN HIS ETERNAL PRESENCE.

March 3 was the most profound day of my life!

During the weekly Marching Through Culpeper prayer call on March 10, Virginia Morton shared with our prayer team of 9 people that the keyword the LORD gave her for this week is TURNAROUND. God is a God of turnarounds. Virginia said she was drawn to the book of Esther and this week we focus on the story of Esther.

As mentioned in my YDB devotional sent earlier on March 10 titled “Organizing Your Life,” 94 people registered for Lynne Lee’s webinar interview of me and 34 people showed up live for the inaugural launch of her Christian LIFE Coaching Cafe on March 3.

What are you going to do to improve that?

I feel like a kid in Toy Land. During the past 6 weeks, I’ve plunged big time into Social Marketing and have discovered how much fun Web 2.0 is and how effective it is at building relationships and growing my network. Leadership is about influence.

What’s the difference between Web 1.0 and Web 2.0. Well, my wife gave the best summary I’ve ever heard while we were walking earlier this week – Web 1.0 is 1-way communication and Web 2.0 is 2-way.

Last week I was saying Web 2.0 is at least 10-100 times more powerful than Web 1.0, but now I realize that’s a gross underestimate. Web 2.0 is at least 100-1,000 times more powerful than Web 1.0.

Let me give just a few simple examples to make my point. I’ve been sending these daily devotionals for 27+ months now. Typically, my net growth rate (new subscribers minus unsubscribers minus invalid email addresses) is about 7-10 people per month.

Well, since beginning the five week series of webinars titled “UNCOMMON Social Marketing (Web 2.0)” on Oct 2, my net growth with my Constant Contact list alone has been 158. That doesn’t include Twitter.

On October 9, I hosted Denise Wakeman and Patsi Krakoff, a.k.a. The Blog Squad, as my guest experts. They were awesome. What they shared would benefit every business, every ministry, and every church. I was so impressed, I had the entire webinar professionally transcribed for my very first time and then used that to make a Camtasia video. I published that video online and it’s FREE for 3 more days. See today’s Link of the Day before this opportunity passed you by forever.

Denise recommended everyone on the webinar open up their own Twitter account. She said all the shakers and the movers on the Internet are now using Twitter. She said she was a skeptic until she started using it. I was a skeptic too until I started using Twitter. Now I’m a believer. Let me share why.

Since opening my own Twitter account two weeks ago, I now am following 179 people and have 96 people following me. I’ve had 36 new people follow me in just the past 2 days without doing anything to try to attract them. What’s so significant about that? Every Tweet I post (and each only takes me 2-3 minutes) shows up instantly at the top of every personal Twitter web page for everyone who is following me. But not only am I building relationships and influencing those people, but everyone who is following them as well. That’s an opportunity to influence tens of thousands of new people in just two weeks.

In the past week using Twitter, I got connected to “The Internet Marketing Inner Circle.” I’ve learned more about Internet marketing and a variety of other interesting topics than I did in the past year. This is incredible. I feel like I’ve had my head buried in the sand by not learning about and using Web 2.0 until the past 2 months.

My favorite Bible is the “The Maxwell Leadership Bible.” According to Dr. John Maxwell, “the American church is dying due to lack of strong leadership. Nothing is more important than leadership. Everything rises and falls on leadership. Leadership is influence – nothing more, nothing less.” To be a leader, you must have others follow you and your example.

Jesus said the whole Bible could be summarized in the Greatest Commandment – to love God and love people. In other words, “Life is about relationships.” Other names for Social Marketing are “Relationship Marketing” and “Attraction Marketing.”

Doesn’t it make sense that when you add value to other people first without expecting anything back from them, they will automatically be attracted to you. Jesus said, “It’s in giving we receive.” I want to be an UNCOMMON Giver. What about you? Will you let me coach you to unleash the power of the web in your business or ministry?

Blessings to be a good steward with Social Marketing!

The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit, A broken and a contrite heart – These, O God, You will not despise. (Psalm 51:17)

How would you describe your relationship with the Holy Spirit?

The overriding theme for the past two weeks has been working smarter, not harder. When you seek God first with all your heart, write down what you are learning, use the web to magnify your time and efforts, have clarity (know your purpose, assignment, objectives, and goals), focus on doing ONE THING well, and listen to and obey the Holy Spirit, you will work smarter, not harder.

For several years I was a financial supporter of Dr. Mike Murdock and The Wisdom Center. He has a powerful turnaround testimony. For years, Dr. Murdock read the Bible entirely through every month – that’s 40 chapters per day. He has a large room at his ministry center dedicated just for prayer. Dr. Murdock is an intercessor. He taught me a lot about the Holy Spirit.

Because of my prior support, I receive a monthly newsletter from Dr. Murdock. In his latest newsletter, he shares this inspiring message:

“The Holy Spirit notices everything.

Your tears affect the Holy Spirit. When others fail to see your tears, He has recorded them. “Thou tellest my wanderings: put thou my tears into thy bottle: are they not in thy book?” (Psalm 56:8). “The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit: a broken and contrite heart, O God, thou wilt not despise.” (Psalm 57:2, KJV)

Your tears bring His commitment to perform for you. “I will cry unto my God most high; unto God that performeth all things for me,” (Psalm 57:2).

Every sparrow that falls to the ground receives the attention of God (Luke 12:6). The hairs of your head are even numbered by God (Luke 12:7).

The Holy Spirit knows the very moment that financial crisis occurs in your personal life. The widom of Zarephath discovered this. Elijah was being fed miraculously by a raven by the brook, Cherith. (Read 1 Kings 17.) The day that the widow was on her very last meal, God stopped the raven from bringing food to Elijah. That day signaled a miraculous change. God sent Elijah to the widow to unlock her faith. The Bible says that she, her family, and the man of God continued to eat throughout the famine. The Holy Spirit knew the very day she was scheduled to eat her last meal on earth.

Oh, our God is glorious and wonderful! Nothing escapes his attention. The Holy Spirit, who walks beside you, is continuously advising you, protecting you, and scheduling miraculous events to keep you focused on your Assignment and the dreams of God for your life.”

O Holy Spirit, Soul of my soul, I adore Thee. Enlighten, guide, strengthen, and console me. Tell me what I ought to do and command me to do it. I promise to accept everything you permit to happen to me, only show me what is Thy will.

As mentioned numerous times in the past, the Internet is God’s supernatural highway of communication. In other words, when the Holy Spirit authors a message, He is responsible for the results. However, since I began using a new type of online journal in the UNCOMMON Journaling for Destiny course, I’ve begun experiencing a variety of new revelations and breakthroughs from INCOMING ideas off the web.

Early on Saturday morning June 8, the Holy Spirit prompted me to do a Google image search using the word “leverage” to design a new poster (see below). One of the first images I discovered led me to Daniel Sitter’s blog called “Idea Sellers.” The slogan for that is “Everybody Sells… either their products or ideas.”

In his August 30, 2007 blog titled “Thwarting Your Success Nemesis,” here is what Daniel states:

Each of us has an enemy, not necessarily one of a spiritual nature, but a physical being capable of  stopping us at every turn. He or she has the power and ability to thwart our very success each day, to wreak havoc on our sales plans and drain us of our motivation. This person can stop us cold and make us feel miserable in the process.

Chances are, you know this person intimately. Perhaps you already spend a great amount of time engaged in negative conversation with him or her. You may have succumbed to the energy-robbing and dream-busting power that this individual has over you. It becomes easy if you have developed a defeatist attitude. Just who is this sinister and powerful person?

Sadly, it is you. To be more specific, it is your subconscious mind, that which steers your every move. In Dr. Shad Helmstetter’s [http://www.shadhelmstetter.com] great work “What to Say When You Talk to Yourself,” he revealed that we are typically engaged in regular self-defeating conversation with ourselves. We doubt our capabilities. We learn to fear both success and failure. We develop an attitude that we cannot be winners so why even try. This is a sickness that must change now.

We need to be expectant. We must get up in the morning expecting the best that life has to offer. We must change our attitudes and adjust our comfort zone. We can no longer accept the status quo. Life is too short to live in such a quagmire of mediocrity or defeat.

Heavenly Father, we praise You as the God of UNCOMMON ideas – unique ideas birthed in us through the Holy Spirit within us – ideas that no one has ever thought of before and that You know will work. Yesterday’s webinar (web seminar) with Rev. Ron Davidson was awesome. What he had to share spoke so strongly to my spirit. Several times while Ron was sharing, my eyes flooded with tears. Ron has the heart of Jesus to serve the poor. While the group attending this webinar was quite small, every person was deeply impacted by what Ron had to say based on survey results. Every attendee made a commitment to make a donation to Gleaning for the World to benefit Operation Rescue Liberia.

Ron says, “A vision is not a business plan. In fact most visions if written as a business plan would not make sense. A vision is from God for the purpose of reaching people with Gods love so God’s receives the glory. A vision is not normal and is uncommon.” That message really spoke to me since my growth goal for my current Implementation coaching course is to develop a business plan for my web company.

Last night I went to bed at 10:30 PM and set my PDA alarm for 5:55 AM. Wouldn’t you know it, the Holy Spirit woke me up at 5:54 AM to formally begin my morning quiet time. This was less than one minute before my alarm went off. Mind you, it was dark and I had no clue what time it was.

While lying in bed and listening to my scheduled iTunes playlist for the day, the Holy Spirit gave me an instruction to make a slight but profound change to the wording for the gorgeous poster image on my computer desktop. JJ Phillips, my anointed graphics artist, designed that.

What was this profound yet simple change in wording? “The secret of your future is hidden in your daily routine!” became “The secret of my future is hidden in my daily routine!” While this may seem insignificant to many people, the change was huge because the message became personal and I see it every day when I come to my computer. The Holy Spirit made it crystal clear to me that my simple desktop image and scripture is His business plan for me. To see this gorgeous custom image, visit today’s Link of the Day.

God has given me a huge vision and I won’t fulfill it by planning in detail. The Holy Spirit refuses to be put in a box. He’s much too great for that.

What can you do to help us promote this year’s community Thanksgiving service in Culpeper?

In my devotional on October 24, I mentioned that Dr. Lloyd Ogilvie will be the keynote speaker at the community Thanksgiving service in Culpeper on Tuesday November 20. His message will be titled “Aptitude, Altitude, and Attitude of Gratitude.”

This Thanksgiving service starts at 7 PM at Culpeper Baptist Church (318 S. West Street, Culpeper, VA 22701). Pastors are asked to arrive by 6:30 PM so they can prepare to come in together for the processional and then sit together.

Dr. Ogilvie will also be having lunch and speaking to members of the Culpeper Ministerial Association and other guests from Noon – 2 PM earlier that day (Nov 20). If you are interested in attending this lunch, please email Nancy Sharman at nancyndp@adelphia.net.

Dr. Ogilvie served as Chaplain for the U.S. Senate from 1995-2003 and has authored more than 50 books. In February 1996, Dr. Ogilvie was recognized by Baylor University in a worldwide survey as one of the 12 most effective preachers in the English-speaking world. Included on the list, in which seven denominations are represented, are Rev. Billy Graham and Dr. John Stott.

Dr. Ogilvie believes that listening is the key to effective communication. His former nationally syndicated radio and television ministry was called “Let God Love You.”

Recently, Fuller Theological Seminary in Pasadena, California established the Lloyd John Ogilvie Preaching Institute and the Lloyd John Ogilvie Chair of Preaching as part of the Brehm Center for Worship, Theology, and the Arts. Dr. Ogilvie will hold his Preaching With Passion Conferences at Fuller.

In your research, what have you found dealing with the power of choice?

On August 16, Dr. Charlene Phillips replied to my devotional sent earlier that day titled “How to Live an Effective Prayer Lifestyle.” She said, “What a great devotional today! In your research and/or writings, what have you found dealing with the power of choice? Christians making the right choices, choosing God as their foundation, and thus bringing balance to their lives when everything else seems to be out of balance.”

I responded, “More than anything else, God demands our obedience – to His Word and to the quiet, still voice of the Holy Spirit. The Bible makes it clear that there are blessings of obedience and curses of disobedience. Personal accountability is extremely important. Each of us is responsible to make right choices. While the results are up to God, He definitely rewards obedience. We may not always see the fruit during our lifetime, but God never forgets.”

In his book “QBQ!”, John Miller says:

The idea that we are accountable for our own choices and are free to make better ones is fundamental to the QBQ. Sometimes people think they have no choice. But we always have a choice. Always. Even deciding not to choose is making a choice.

One of the guiding principles of the QBQ is “The answers are in the questions.” If we ask a better question, we get a better answer. So the QBQ is about asking better questions. But how can we tell a good question from a bad one? What does a better question look like? QBQ’s: 1) Begin with “What” or “How” (not “Why,” “When,” or “Who.”); 2) Contain an “I” (not “they,” “them,” “we,” or “you”); 3) Focus on action. “What can I do?” for example, follows the guidelines perfectly.

Don’t’ ask “Why”: (e.g. “Why has this happened to me?”) Anyone can fall into the “Why” trap. That’s victim thinking. The best thing we can do to get rid of victim thinking in our world is to get rid of it in ourselves.

Stress is a choice. Yes bad things happen. Life is full of bad things. But still, stress is a choice because whatever the “trigger event,” we always choose our own experience. Stress is also the result of our choices.

We need to develop a repertoire of responses so we’re prepared when our engine unexpectedly quits. When faced with a new situation, take action and solve the problem.

Questions that begin with “When” lead to procrastination. Procrastination is a sneaky problem. We put something off until a little later, and then a little later, and a little later again until, before we know it, the action has been postponed so long that it has become a serious problem. Putting things off means precious time is lost. Productivity suffers. The team may not progress toward its goal. Deadlines are missed. Procrastination is the friend of failure. Let’s take care of the little things while they’re still little.

How S.M.A.R.T. are your most important goals?

For the past two days, I have talked about the importance of health accountability. Today we’ll discuss setting S.M.A.R.T. goals and give a clear example of how this works. S.M.A.R.T. goals are Specific, Measurable, Attainable, Relevant (Realistic), and Timely.

Specific: A specific goal has a much greater chance of being accomplished than a general goal. To set a specific goal you must answer the six “W” questions: Who is involved? What do I want to accomplish? Where? (Identify a location) When? Establish a time frame. Which? Identify requirements and constraints. Why? Define specific reasons, purpose or benefits of accomplishing the goal.

Measurable: Establish concrete criteria for measuring progress toward the attainment of each goal you set. When you measure your progress, you stay on track, reach your target dates, and experience the exhilaration of achievement that spurs you on to continued effort required to reach your goal.

Attainable: When you identify goals that are most important to you, you begin to figure out ways you can make them come true. You develop the attitudes, abilities, skills, and financial capacity to reach them.

Realistic: To be realistic, a goal must represent an objective toward which you are both willing and able to work. A goal can be both high and realistic; you are the only one who can decide just how high your goal should be.

Timely: A goal should be grounded within a time frame. With no time frame tied to it, there’s no sense of urgency.

Now let me give you a real life example of how this works. This morning when I was walking with my wife, she told me she wants to start regular emails to drive traffic to www.worldbeanroasthers.com, the website for her coffee roasting business. She’s been telling me this for several months. To help her achieve her goal, I then asked her some specific questions – “When do you want to start these emails? How often do you plan to send them out initially? Who will you sent them out to?”

Heavenly Father, You teach that unless the LORD builds the house, they labor in vain to build it. Therefore, may we seek Your wisdom and Your guidance before we set and pursue goals. May you be the one who builds all that we do. Thank You Jesus. Amen.

Yesterday evening (June 15), I had the distinct privilege to participate in the graduation service for the Class of 2007 for the Northern Virginia Extension Campus of Life Christian University (LCU). The graduation celebration took place at the relatively new Germanna Center for Advance Technology in Culpeper.

Even though I had only taken classes at LCU for three months (January – March 2007) and was not receiving any certificate, I was still allowed to wear a cap and gown and join with the others who were receiving certificates.

While I’ve been to numerous graduation services before, including my own graduations from high school, college, and medical school and my children’s graduations from high school and college, this was my favorite one. Why? For numerous reasons.

This was the first graduation service I ever attended in which fervent worship of God was integrated throughout the service. The graduates were men and women with intense passion for Jesus. Every speaker was full of godly wisdom. The MC was my good friend, Michael Stay. Dr. Douglas Wingate, the Founder and President of LCU, came to Culpeper for the first time as the keynote speaker for this 10 year anniversary celebration of our local LCU campus.

I could go on and on. However, since a picture is worth a thousand words, I’ve included photos from this glorious event at today’s Link of the Day. Enjoy!!!
