“Things turn out best for the people who make the best of the way things turn out.” – Art Linkletter

And my speech and my preaching were not with persuasive words of human wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power,  (1 Corinthians 2:4)

How can you help support Christians in media?

I had hoped to launch my first BlogTalkRadio show today, but things didn’t work out as planned. It’s my goal to be doing a daily online radio show starting January 2 interviewing other people to share their God-given dreams and passions with the world.

When I shared my plans with Dr. Jerry Graham on Wed Dec 3, he told me about Art Linkletter. Art had a daily radio show that evolved into a daily TV show. Jerry told me Art was quoted as saying, “Things turn out best for the people who make the best of the way things turn out.”

According to Wikipedia, “Art Linkletter (born Gordon Arthur Kelly on July 17, 1912 in Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan, Canada) was the host of two of the longest-running shows in United States broadcast history.” Art was abandoned as an infant, adopted and raised by a preacher. He still is alive at the age of 96 and has had one of the longest marriages of any celebrity in America.

Jerry told me the hidden secret of radio interviews is to ask the people you are interviewing to submit questions to you beforehand. You don’t have to read their books.

Prayer Power
Heavenly Father, thank you for Art Linkletter and the good example he has set for other people in media. May you bless the start of my new BlogTalkRadio ministry. May you bless the guests who choose to participate as well as those who choose to listen. Thank You Jesus. Amen and hallelujah!

    Hi Randy:

I just started following you on Twitter, headed over here to see your blog and I love your post for today. The advice shared here is great! I have been hosting and producing Indie Business Radio since 2005 and I do not read all of the books I receive. Questions submitted beforehand are immensely helpful! The great thing about having a book in your hands is that you can add it to your collection and maybe read a select page or two in advance to help you highlight some of the points you want to focus on in your interview. Also if you have the book, you can give it away to a listener as part of a contest on your show. I wish you the best with your new radio show! If I can help in any way, please let me know.
