Hi John,

Thank for your feedback. Being content with whatever we have is definitely a biblical truth. Being a good steward with our finances is something Jesus, Paul, Solomon and other taught about. There is a wide-spread poverty mentality amongst most of the Body of Christ that is not Biblical. It is not holier to be poor. Money isn't inherently evil, but the love of money is. It is OK to be rich, but seek ye first the Kingdom of God.

Fasting (from food) periodically is something Jesus commanded his followers to do. Caring for the downtrodden, including the hungry, poor, widows, orphans, sick, prisoners, etc, is something Jesus commanded us to do. Taking good care of our bodies, the temples of the Holy Spirit, is biblical.

Blessings,
Randy

St Paul said somewhere in one of his letters:
"I know how to live on almost nothing or with everything. I have learned the secret of living in every situation, whether it is with a full stomach or empty, with plenty or little"
So perhaps it is wrong to use the money God provides for food to fill my stomach to the point I am not hungry every day? That may seem like a strange question but it is a real one for me. I spend a lot of my day being hungry. I have a propensity to gain weight. I am over weight. I feel better when my stomach is full. Every time I go to church or family functions or meet with friends or business associates it seems to revolve around food. We have beggars that stand just outside of the Chinese (all you can eat) buffet asking for a donation. They are dirty cold and hungry. It is a paradox for me. It is different in other countries but in the United States perhaps for me it is not an issue "do you want to be rich or poor" (we are all rich). Perhaps we might ask the question " Does Jesus want me to be hungry today"?
