Hi Bob, Thank you for posting your comment on my blog so others can see it rather than sending me an email. Thank you for opening my eyes to a waterwheel being source for power and provision. Thank you for sharing that "Prayer is what God wants." Blessiings, Randy

This is definitely a call from God to have your weekly prayer meeting in Culpepper. Our nation's congressmen/women and Senators need our prayers over the healthcare reform and cap and trade, as well as our families.

Thank you so much for this post.

Randy,

I am so glad you are retelling the story of a businessman who became an evangelist through a prayer movement. It is one of my favorite all time stories. I will always remember one aspect that you mentioned: only two people showed up and they were half an hour late the first day!

I asked J. Edwin Orr, a revival historian who wrote a book about this, about the theological tension in saying, "We must pray to bring revival." He said it well, "The Calvinists will say, when God wants a revival He sets His people to praying! Either way we say it, prayer is what God wants."

That is s great photo image of the metaphor: the wheel also produces power and provision-food and whatever power was needed to do!Thanks for great post.
