Thank you for your message. Learning to say "No" often is vital to an intimate relationship with Jesus. If we aren't in a hurry ourselves, someone else close to us is and they are trying to speed us up. Jesus was never in a hurry, not even one time. To be spiritually healthy, one must ruthlessly eliminate hurry from his life. Love and hurry are incompatible. Blessings, Randy

Dear Randy, This letter and the video Love Letter from God are so inspiring and a concise compilation of scriptures describing
obedience. I want to thank God for giving you the wisdom to put
them all together for this morning's blessing. Your life certainly exemplifies obedience for those of us who receive your daily blessing.
I am partipating in Beth Moore's Bible Study, Stepping Up which is based on Psalm 120-135. Her idea for participating in reading scripture is to "Say it, Work it, Pray It." After reading scripture aloud, circle the use of God's name, underline phrases that are particularly meaningful and put a ? by anything you don't understand. Take note of any words that remind you of an experience in your life and jot down a word for that memory.
"Overachievers" go to http://blueletterbible.org to study the original meanings of the words. Conclude by writing your own psalm using the concepts you learned from the one you red.

From Prayer Journal
02/18/09
What are the priorities for today? This process for hearing your voice needs perfecting. Why do I not hear you better?

Fasted yesterday and will continue today. No word on the appraisal. May your will be done in this matter. I commit it to you. Help me know how to relate to mom and Jim, also Diana and Laura.

I am driven by what everyone wants me to do. Everyone being you ,myself ,Diana, friends, family, peers, business associates, satan, anyone or spirit that enters my sphere of influence. This is what puts me under pressure, stresses me out, causes, fear, anger, depression, confusion, and generally causes me to be "driven" in place of walking peacefully at a measured pace throughout each day. It is my conclusion that I must find a way to remain calm by not responding to any pressure by anyone or anything (including myself) that try's get me to do anything that counters your direction for my life. This is the only way I can remain in an unhurried state through out each day. I must not be swayed by other peoples anger or pressure to do anything. This is the hardest with those people that I am the closest to. This is the reason (I think) that generally I choose not to be vary close to anyone. Ok so that is what I must do, refuse to be pressured by anyone, humbly seek you direction for the day each morning, be quick to listen (to your voice through whoever and what ever you choose to speak), slow to speak and/or to be influenced by any other pressure. Just thinking about doing that is a peaceful thought.

16 For you will not delight in sacrifice, or I would give it;
you will not be pleased with a burnt offering.
17 The sacrifices of God are x a broken spirit;
a broken and contrite heart, O God, you will not despise.

Above is a portion of Psalm 51. This is not easy to understand until we see it in the Spirit. This is about our hearts. We think we have given our hearts to Jesus. Yet, he is saying this to people who think they had given everything to God because of the commands of Scripture concerning ritual law.

There are things in many hearts that hurt, and we bury them, attempting to cover them up with activity, manipulating our feelings with our physcial intake, or 100 other ways to avoid the pain. What God wants is for us to literally offer our "heart" (spirit) as a living sacrifice, along with our bodies. He wants to do surgery on them, but must first have the heart we are protecting from him with willingness on our parts. We feel it will hurt, but it hurts if we do not, forever. And, this is our "forever" body part, our spirit.

Not sure if this resonates, as it is profoundly deeper than I understand fully, but I see God doing this. So, this is a most important issue of obedience- have we said, "I give my heart to Jesus" and this for salvation; yet we have not given it for surgery?
